As we gather, Let Us Think With A Prayer.
One old night, as we sat by the fireside,
Religious and unbelievers we sat,
As peaceful as ever we sat; not an iota of violence in our body.
Everyone had their perception of the world to themselves.
Everyone had a confession to make; tainted souls we were,
Thank God priests were present in this gathering,
For no one had clean hands to touch another,
As my mind wandered and got stuck in a quiet place down in me, she sat.
So why if we were all flawed, some like teachers pointed their fingers?
Why do we judge each other and act as though we sat on the right-hand side of God?
As sharp and white our clothes were our souls were still Dalmatians,
So then why do others behave as if the Earth was theirs to judge?
I remembered how I love sex and laughed,
We all are sinners, we all are flawed,
I do not hide my sin, I do not hide who I am,
So then does it mean I love God not?
Does it mean I am not a child of God?
Does it mean I do not know who God is?
Does it mean I am a lost soul?
Our leaders lead us to fight against one another
As one we sat with no quarrels, then why can’t we let peace rule us?
Why do we have to fight when religions preach peace and love?
For what is its worth?
Empty words and empty vessels we are then.
To everyone their perception, to everyone their belief,
To we all is love,
To we all, we can respect viewpoints that we do not share,
As one by this fireside we sat,
The devil lurks in the dark they say but in this darkness, we came to an agreement for love to rule,
Who then is a righteous man, if we are all sinners,
If we all are sinful then how do we enter a sinless place?
Day in, day out sin calls on us,
As I smoked poetry, my high bred this thought
Do not come for my soul, it is wandering in places finding answers.
