The rain came to meet earth,
To take away her discomfort.
I watched on and saw their love
Beautiful and still young
The sweet smell of rain filled my nose and made me nostalgic.
“Akosua yɛ nkɔ, nsu retɔ” ( Akosua Let’s go it is raining)
Daabi, yɛ nni agoro wo mu, ɛbɛ yɛ dɛ (let’s play in the rain, it’ll be fun)
Oh the good old days, how I miss you
No slippers just my oversized panty, bare-chested.
Nothing to hide anyway.
The rain brought us together,
Even when our mothers were mad and yelled for us to get out of the rain,
We only played even more,
We fell, got up and run around in the rain.
We all grew up so fast!
“Let’s dance in the rain”, not tonight not today.
The cold never bothered me,
But memories oh memories!
It brought a lot
And how we all have drifted.
How we couldn’t even play kpit and pen top anymore,
No pilolo’s firi sɛ ɛyɛ kwasea dwuma,
I will give everything to relive it again
Relive love and all the rain on my body.
Jump out there as confident and bold as royalty.
The rain is beautiful,
She is home,
I will always come to her for she is happiness
She is calm and solace,
She is everything beautiful and warm.
She loves the earth,
She takes away its pain of constant human torture;
Even if it is only for a day the earth understands.
Oh Rain, you are loved,
We understand your fury and we will work on us.
We, humans, love you as much as you love earth
When you fall, you wash away the pain
You bring renewed hope and genuine smiles.
You are life,
Visit often even if gentle drizzles but do not stay away so long..
The cold is warm,
The love is infectious,
We need you, rain.
